Burrying fertilizers when sowing field crops.

Localized burying of fertilizer is applied to summer crops receiving solid fertilizer at sowing. It requires a modification of the fertilizer application equipment (or the call to a specialized company).

This measure allows for more efficient fertilizer input, as it interrupts any loss of nitrogen by volatilization. It requires specific equipment for burying the fertilizer. However the technique allows a significant reduction of the nitrogen dose provided (of the order of 12 kgN / ha). The direct consequences are a drop in fertilizer costs for the farmer, and a drop in nitrogen pressure on the water resource. Volatilization is also a source of greenhouse gas emissions.
